The Walks That Made History
Zach’s Bonners cross country walks were more than symbolic they were strategic, impactful, and deeply personal.
Each journey brought attention to the struggles of homeless children and created real change.
2007: Tampa, FL to Tallahassee, FL – 280 miles
2008: Tallahassee to Atlanta, George – 270 miles
2009: Atlanta to Washington, D.C. – 668 miles
2010: March Across America – 2,478 miles from Tampa, FL to Los Angeles
During these walks, Zach Bonner carried a GPS tracker called the "zacktracker" provided by my former company, S&L Services Inc., allowing supporters and media to follow his progress in real time. That sponsorship wasn’t just technical it was transformational.
This is the Legacy story of S&L Services Inc., a company I founded and operated prior to its sale and dissolution in 2012, proudly sponsored the Zach Tracker for Zach Bonner’s walks across America. Though the company no longer exists, its contribution to youth led service remains a meaningful part of my personal journey and commitment to community impact to this day.
This tribute page was created not just to honor Zach Bonner’s incredible journey but to reflect on a moment that changed mine life many
years ago, I owned S&L Services, a company located in Walkerton, IN that provided GPS tracking and Security Services for a wide range of clients. We tracked many people and projects, but one stood out was working with Zach Bonner and his Little Red Wagon Foundation. Supporting his mission through GPS sponsorship wasn’t just another job it was a wake-up call. Watching and working with this young man dedicate himself so fully to helping others stirred something deep in me.
That experience working with Zach Bonner for several years challenged me to rethink my own path. In late 2012, I sold S&L Services and began focusing more on what truly mattered: serving my community, building unity, and being the difference, I wanted to see in the world.
This page exists to preserve the legacy not to promote the business, but to honor the legacy Zach Bonner, did during his walks it reminded me that impact doesn’t come from scale it comes from heart and sometimes, one step forward can change everything. So this is my legacy story page and how Zach Bonner journey change my life and to help others in my community.
